Two agents investigate industrial sabotage against a pipeline in Alaska and the Athabasca Oil sands in Canada. This adventure novel is actually more of an old fashioned mystery novel. Our heroes, Dermott and Mackenzie investigate various events of sabotage/murder and the novel ends with the scene where everybody is gathered and the heroes explain who's guilty and how they did it. There are some suspense towards the end, but not much. Its biggest asset is MacLean's occasional humor and character descriptions. Not a bad book but also not very good.
