I bought both the 4W and 3.3W Golf Ball bulbs from 'LED Factory Outlet' so I hope it is ok that this review is also a comparison of the two.

Interestingly, something I have noticed with all the LED bulbs I have bought so far is that none of them have any markings on them. Nothing to say what voltage, power rating or even the manufacturer. This isn't a problem now but it could be when (if the bulbs last as long as I hope), I have to replace them in 5 years, I will have completely forgotten what power rating they are. That is why they only got 4 Stars instead of 5.

To help future-me, just before I put each bulb in, I am making a brief note of the specification on the base using a CD marker pen.

As another reviewer has said, the 4W is not the size of a typical 'Golf Ball' bulb although it is slightly smaller than a regular incandescent bulb. Search for '4W B22 LED Bulb Epistar LED' to find this bulb.

However, it may of interest that the 3.3W bulb is smaller and just like a regular 'Golf Ball'. Search for '3.3W B22 Bayonet Cap Epistar LED' on Amazon to find it.

To put the size into a visual context, I have uploaded a photo.

The bulb on the left is a regular 60W Incandescent
The middle bulb is the 4W LED
The righthand bulb is the 3.3W LED

I would put the brightness somewhere between a 25W and a 40W incandescent.

I plugged both of them into my power meter and it read 3.4 Watts for both. The 4W bulb 'feels' a bit brighter but there really isn't much in it.

The colour of the light is quite white but not excessively so. We are using both of them in our bedsite lights and find both the colour and brightness acceptable.

It's very hard to find a truly compact LED golf ball bulb anywhere on the internet. Most of the ones available are 1 watt decorative effect bulbs or, if proper replacement LED bulbs, they tend to be elongated with a golf ball shaped top.
This is a really good 35 watt equivalent replacement bulb with which I am very pleased.
Seller shipped the bulb immediately and I received it next day.
Excellent service and quality product. Also seller provides a full specification for the bulb so the size. equivalent output and all details are available to the buyer.

I ordered two of these in the B22 cap version as a (rather expensive) experiment! I have a lot of wall lights that only look any good with traditional 40 watt pearl golfball bulbs, which are becoming very difficult to get. I have therefore been looking for a long time for low energy equivalents. I had no success until I found these. They are nearly 10 times the price but they are the same size and shape and look excellent in my lights. The brightness is bit low (about 30 watt equivalent) and they are a little colder in colour, but are otherwise great. So if the manufacturers could boost them to 5 watts, bring the colour temperature down a little and, dare I say, also bring the price down a tad they would be perfect.

Bought these for a light fitting that originally took 6x40W tungsten golf ball bulbs but to replace compact fluorescent ones that were supposed to be equivalent. The fluorescent bulbs (9W) literaly took 10mins to reach maximum brightness which was still not as bright as the tungsten bulbs they replaced - and the flourescent bulbs still stuck out the top of the light fitting!

These really are the same size as golf ball bulbs and only 3.3W. They are instantly bright - easily equivalent to 40W tungsten and produce a pleasant light - perhaps slightly colder than a tungsten but not appreciably different, and hopefully will last for years.

I purchased a couple of these through Amazon. First impressions are good with this giving a similar light output to the 40 Watt bulbs they replaced. Same size as a golf ball bulb and a very even spread of light around the bulb - you wouldn't guess it was an LED.

I always find energy efficient bulbs to be over-priced, so grabbed a couple of these for less than £6 each. They provide an equivalent 40 Watt pleasant (normal) warm white light yet use only 3.3 Watts (according to spec) and have an average life of 35000 hours. So the energy/cost saving is clear.

Just note however that they do take a second or so to fully warm up before they provide their full light. They are also non-dimmable.

Good LED golf-ball sized bulb, at a realistic price. Gives off a nice clean light, no greeny/yellowy hues that often plague LED bulbs. I previously used Philips for most of our lamps but they're expensive, and one of the golf-ball size Philips LED bulbs makes an annoying buzzing noise - no noise from this one, and the ceramic cooling seems to work very well.

I replaced some very ugly CFLs that have lasted poorly and stuck out with these instant on, very smart items. The light fitting looks and works so much better.
(I hope the they will live up to their long life claims, CFLs do not even last as long as the £0.30 tungsten filament bulbs they replaced)
