Product Description

eco LED Revolution have produced the very latest in retro fit GU10 lamps.

By replicating the look of a traditional halogen spot light, we have manufactured a lamp with the same colour tones (2700k-2800k) as an incandescent/halogen light, as well as incorporating the 38 degree beam angle from a single point LED chip. We also have a high CRI of 80 (Colour Rendering Index). This keeps, for example, wood looking rich without washing out colour.

These are the first retro fit GU10 spots not to look like LED's - traditional LED's typically have either 24 small chips or they have 3-5 larger chips which are easily spotted as 3-5 points of light. Ours have one single chip approximately 1cm in diameter which sits behind a lens designed to look like a reflector in a halogen spotlight.

Please view the additional photos for some examples.

Using the very latest in cold forged aluminium, we have been able to create a small, compact heatsink which is three times better at heat dissipation than regular aluminium. This is how we can keep the lamp small yet incredibly bright.

The lamps are 50mm wide and 57mm tall. This is approximately 5mm taller than a traditional GU10 halogen spotlight. If they are to be used in recessed ceiling holders this will not be a problem, they fit into almost all of them. With decorative lamps, the spot may protrude slightly from its holder.

6W delivers over 500 lumens of brightness. This equates to an 88% saving of electricity compared to a traditional 50W halogen spot.

Our lamps have a life expectancy of 50,000 hours. So confident of our product, we supply a 5 year warranty as standard.

Please note that this bulb cannot be dimmed. We do have a dimmable version available.

GU10 fitting required.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quite simply - brilliant. 22 Mar 2013

I'm old, I'm cynical but once in a blue moon I get an item through the post which reaffirms my faith in our species.
I have tried CFL and reached the obvious conclusion they only save energy because so little light is emitted.
Finally and at long last the promise of LED lighting becomes a reality with these 6w LED GU10 lights which not only throw a decent spread but most importantly render light at or close to incandescent warmth.
Quite simply - brilliant.
Buy without hesitation.
The energy saving future has arrived - and about time. It's just a shame our dumb politicians in effect legislated for mercury containing CFL lamps as the cul-de-sac answer to all their greenwash prayers.
P.S. 100W E27/B22 equivalent next please.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow these LEDs have transformed our kitchen 1 Mar 2013

Being keen to reduce our lighting costs I had already purchased a batch the old style SMD (surface mounted diode) LED's which although it reduced our power consumption considerably, my wife and I were never happy with the light it produced. I would say it had almost a hew of green / blue. Although the light itself was bright, the amount of light it threw out was quite poor at distance and was very flat.

Since then we have tried several LED alternatives. By far the best ones we have found are these new generation 6 watt seriously bright lights from eco LED Revolution.

Firstly the quality and colour of light in my opinion is perfect for our home. Warm 2700k which is basically the same as a traditional 50w halogen. However I found the light to be noticeably stronger than the 50mm halogen. I would say at least 60 watt equivalent.

The beam angle is very similar to a traditional halogen. It seems to throw the light down and is directional as a halogen but the spread is a little softer. I found the examples on the Amazon web page to be very accurate indeed.

Size. They fit perfectly into my recessed downlighters. Slightly taller than the original halogen (57mm as apposed to 52mm) but actually smaller than the SMD GU10 which I am replacing (60mm)

Build quality is solid and weighty. The glass lens looks very similar to the reflective lens of a halogen and in fact I cant tell the difference between the halogen and this LED when the light is on. I found the SMD lights quite distinctive as LED's as there were 24 little LED's were illuminated.

Couldn't be happier with this find and will be replacing the rest of the downlights throughout my home with this product. Glad to have joined the eco LED Revolution

4.0 out of 5 stars Good...........but 22 May 2013

A good lamp at a good price. The colour rendering is good but it is very slightly harsher (i would guess nearer 3200K - 3500K and a slight blueish light) than a tungsten bulb.

5.0 out of 5 stars I have seen the Light!!! 21 May 2013
Verified Purchase
I thought I was getting old. The world was becoming a dim and miserable place. Then I ordered some new bulbs...

Crikey. These lights have taken the place of a bank of 50 watt Halogen bulbs. The output is so staggeringly improved that I can honestly say that I could ditch a couple of the bulbs and still be better off. The colour is a softer shade of 'sunshine' rather than the antiseptic white of the Halogens.

And the best bit? Ordered then on Monday late afternoon and they arrived in south Wales at 9:26 the following morning. Free postage!

Just ordered some more for the bathroom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely getting more of these 27 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase
I've been mulling over getting these for a while in order to reduce energy costs and of course be more eco friendly - so I thought I'd try out one of these to replace the halogens. The light is strong but has good warmth to it and there is virtually no difference to the halogen it replaced. So now for replacing all of them... more please!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic LED lights 15 July 2013
Verified Purchase
The COB LED lights are astounding, they perform even better than the halogens they replaced whilst consuming a fraction of the power. I have replaced quite a few Halogens with LED GU10 cheaper so called "direct replacements", none have come up to the mark in terms of performance. I cannot emphasise just how good these are! It's not just about the kelvin colour temperature, but the colour rendering index which is important for LED lights not to look/or make things look strange. Again these do not disappoint and have a CRI close to Halogen. If you are concerned that LED's won't look right, or won't be bright enough.....get these, you will be glad you did.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality LED 17 Jun 2013
Verified Purchase
The market seems to be flooded with LED light bulbs and it can be difficult to distinguish between the good and the bad. I was concerned about buying a LED bulb with a cold white light thankfully this isn't the case.

I purchased one to trial and thankfully this product is a suitable replacement to 40W halogen light bulbs in my kitchen and since I have ordered 3 more!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easily the best 1 Jun 2013
By M1nd
So far I have tried 6 different types of LED GU10 bulbs and these are easily the best match for a GU10 halogen bulb in brightness and colour temperature.

Unfortunately the best costs a lot more, so I have gone for the long life 27-chip LED bulbs as they are almost as good and are half the price.
