Book Description

Tristan Evans is a ten year old boy.
At this moment in time, he is missing.

There is not a person in England who hasn't heard of the missing Tristan, or seen a picture of the mousey haired boy with grey eyes. Unfortunately, since he disappeared, no-one has seen Tristan.
That is, except for one person:

Me.

I know where the boy is. I know he is alive, and that he is safe. In normal circumstances, this might make me a national hero. However, these are not normal circumstances and as such, normal rules do not apply.

One of those rules is that I'm not allowed to tell anyone that I know he is alive. If I do, no-one will ever see him again.

In other words, he is a hostage. And, somehow, I've gotten stuck in the middle, between the parents who understandably want him back and between those who will keep Tristan locked away until their demands are met. And let me tell you this: it's much harder to negotiate when you're not allowed to mention what you're negotiating for.
And it's even harder when you're not sure what you're negotiating for.

Hello, my name is Beige, and I'm in hell.

Chance discovered this lesser-known gem. Can anyone tell me if he/she's done any more? Perhaps it's a pseudonym even?

Anyway, a page turner, couldn't put it down and now I'm looking forward to sequels / prequels etc.

4.0 out of 5 stars The premise caught my eye, a fun story to the end. 25 Nov. 2014

I got this book as a freebie a few months ago, though do feel it would be worth the current price of $.99 if you like to try books by unknown authors.

It's unfortunate that the low rating reviewers gave up on the book early on as my initial impression of where the book was going wasn't where it ended up, and I wonder if they'd have had a different impression had they given it a chance. I hesitate to say much more than that lest I spoil the ending for any who choose to read it.

Overall I enjoyed the book as a quick and easy read. Not the deepest of literature (not really what I expected anyhow), but a fun story none the less.

I'm curious who the author really is and whether more books will follow. I'd be willing to take a chance on book #2.
5.0 out of 5 stars What a great read! Could not put this book down until the last page! 8 Mar. 2014

This book is supposed to be a fiction, however, after reading it, I believe that it is based on fact and that the author S.C. did quite a bit of research on missing children before writing this book.

The setting is in England, yet the story is similar to other stories. Kids turn up missing, not the ones say kidnapped by their parents, but the kids who are runaways and do not want to be found. This is the story of a boy named Tristen.and how he hid out under the radar so to speak.

This book I truly enjoyed from start to finish. Found the writing very believable.

It was a little confusing. Even once I finished the book, took a bit to figure it all out.
