5.0 out of 5 stars Very usefull book for going deeper in Wordpress 9 Dec. 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I love this book because it is covering with precision many aspects of Wordpress customisation.

When a lot of books about Wordpress are focused on very simple tasks, like install it, writing a post etc.... this book
goes on a higher level and 'under the hood' with custom posts, taxonomy, template, theme and theme child..and a lot more
(take a look at the table of contents).
It is not really for the very beginner but the book is easy to read.

The text is precise, and the examples throughout the book are comprehensives and it is well written.

An important thing about this book is that it is covering wordpress version 3.5, where major upgrades were made in it,
I think about the new media manager wich is covered here.

Finaly I had the opportunity to send an e-mail to the author who is very nice to have answered me quickly.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's definitely a 5 star wp resource. 23 Aug. 2013

I loooooved this book! I made WordPress my career, and I am having two challenges in front of me.

1. Deep technical knowledge of WordPress and PHP/ Complex Wordpress Development etc. (not this book. The title is a little confusing)

2. Workflow/Process/Management/How-to's/Knowledge-from-experience/Gaps-in-understanding-how-WP-works (yeah!!! this is the boooooook) Thank you!

- I am not scared of point #1. I know this will come only with time and practice. There are no shortcuts.

- But I am extremely scared of my point #2. To me, this is what I need to start and finish a project. So this book is a super valuable recourse to me. And it's the answer to my point #2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on in depth Wordpress Development out there 17 Oct. 2013
By Tiffany Anderson - Published on
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Covers just about every base I can think of. Development for the front end, the admin, process, etc. Very well written. A few of the working examples are difficult to follow the first time or so through, but eventually I get it. Still the best there is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really helpful as a reference book 20 Jan. 2014
By Jenn - Published on
Format:Kindle Edition
This book takes things to the next level as promised, and particularly in its ebook format, works terrifically as a reference guide when you are actually doing the work. It does require basic familiarity with Wordpress, design and coding.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Book, but to read it all. 7 Nov. 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It seems clear but it shows some examples at the beginning of the book, that are ver hard to understand. Good book but you have to read it all to understand the idea.
