More About the Author

Michael is a stay at home dad working 50% and when not organising fights between various Ben 10 aliens, naked Barbies and Bakugans he designs and animate spots for television and writes for a couple of blogs about...stuff. He also designs websites...illustrates things and is even on the radio. An all round, jobbing creative.

Like everyone else in the world he tried to write a book and to his great surprise actually finished it. He sent it to a couple of buddies who he trusted would tell him whether it sucked or not but they both loved it and said he should do something with it. One even threatened to film it. Anyway, he published it to Kindle and is trying to promote it himself and get some sales together...just about any way he can.

Ummm...what else? He's the wrong side of 40, his eyesight sucks, he lives in Switzerland, has two children, is married, skis well, is a good cook and still plays video games. He is trying to learn the piano but is terrible. His party trick is a pretty uncanny impression of a Wookie from Star Wars. It really is good. Honest.

Michael is working on his second novel...in fact he has three on the go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hugely entertaining read! 27 Jan. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I have to say that I really enjoyed this book and found I was very quickly becoming engrossed in the story line. The characters are very well depicted, with flaws and traits we can all recognise in ourselves (well, me at least). The plot itself is a new twist on the old 'bank job' classic but it is Michael's cutting narrative that stand out. The descriptions of how a `normal' person could rapidly find themselves in a situation where they could contemplate robbing a bank, unsurprisingly rapidly ending up totally out of their depth, really appealed to me. All in all, a top read and well worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful Read! 17 Jan. 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Really quite a good read, I bought digital edition today (a mere $2.70 U.S.) and am halfway through. the characters are personable, easy to empathize with and fun. All through the reading, I can see it on the big screen. The two brothers and the interactions between them are hilarious, the dialogue is great, the whole story is whacked and funny. The funny bits in the book would be hilarious bits on the screen. I highly recommend this read to anyone who has the need for a good book and a few laughs!! Okay, now I have finished the book. All I can say is that you will be surprised at the ending. The action is fast paced, the dialogue and interplay betwixt the characters is both endearing and intriguing and the book leaves you wanting to read more, this author should seriously consider screen-writing a sequel!

5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch! 4 Jan. 2014

For a first novel this is top notch!

A playful romp through seedy London and overseas. Travel along with two brothers in an almost accidental heist with twists and turns.
This pretty much a movie ready script. I'll be surprised if it doesn't get optioned and then made into a film shortly!

Oh and for less than two quid it's a "steal"!

Let me start by saying that I enjoyed what I read of Insecure. It has an energy and pace about it that made me want to read on, there are signs of humour and the plot looked to be heading toward something interesting.

However, the proofreading and spelling are pretty woeful. The sample isn't long yet I could still find at least 100 mistakes in it. Sentences such as "Carrie stepped back behind the bar a expertly tipped Vodka into a glass, whilst poring in crushed ice." are not unusual in this book.

The Kindle-isation isn't fantastic as there were 3s appearing all over the place at the beginning. This is all rather a shame, because with a bit of polish I would rate Insecure about 3.5 stars out of 5, but as it is, it's more like 2.75 stars.
