Amazon.co.uk Review
If you already have the basics of guitar playing down, and can strum a tune and sing along without any trouble, then you may be ready to move on to the next stage.
Guitar Method 2 is a CD-ROM for those who want to tackle intermediate skills like hammer-ons, pull offs, bends and vibrato. You may also want to pick up some new strumming styles or playing techniques. Like its predecessor
Guitar Method 1,
Guitar Method 2 takes a lesson-based approach. There are six chapters and 60 lessons in all, with two appendices, one teaching standard musical notation in case you need to learn to read music, and the other explaining scales and other rudiments of music theory.
Lessons are accompanied by audio--tunes are played so you can listen first or play along--and a self-recording feature allows you to hear how your playing sounds. Animation helps you follow the playing of tunes, a metronome keeps you on the beat, and you can switch between standard musical notation and tablature (special notation for guitarists). There are also videos to help out with the finer points.
It will take a while to get through Guitar Method 2, but plenty of styles of tunes are included, and, of course you can work with the lessons at your own pace. --Sandra Vogel
