Found this laptop to be easy to set up and had all the functions needed for a first laptop for my grandaughter. Not too heavy and battery life appeared good along with connectivity. Should do well for their school work and with the card reader providing a 'readyboost' facility from an 8gb sdhc card speed is there as well. I did up the ram to 4gb to which the laptop responded well. Speed was a concern as the users are likely to want things done 'quickly'.

This machine meets most of the requirements for a basic laptop at an affordable price. It is lightweight and stylish, and more than fast enough to deal with e-mails and web browsing. An ideal starter machine for students. However, its one major drawback is the keyboard. The lettering on the keys is so fine that it is almost impossible to read in poor light. When using it on my desk, I am having to use a desk lamp even during the day. very please with this laptop- I bought it for my 13 yo daughter and it is brilliant. very functional and moreover she can also play with no problem her game: sims 2. that was one of my concerns. it is fast and internet connection is brilliant for streamline. don't hesitate to buy one it's worth every penny.

Very happy with this laptop, it's our first so not much experience with laptops but it does everything we want of it and does it quick. One slight drawback, it's pretty heavy.
