Regardless of the weather outside, with Ibiza eJay you can recreate the groovy, bouncy, trancy dance/techno sound that epitomises the sun-drenched Balearic island of Ibiza in the summer.
As with much eJay "home studio" software, at first sight the format of this CD-ROM appears daunting and complex; on greater acquaintance it becomes clear, almost foolproof. The basic on-screen tool is a "sample selection window", with which the would-be DJ can work up the perfect party soundtrack using the provided solos, loops, riffs, paradiddles and so forth. The already synchronised (140 bpm) and harmonised (A minor) music samples include drum grooves, bass sounds, piano and organ trills, plus more complicated but rewarding chunks of proper melody. Utilising the sample manager you can mix, warp and weave together these uncopyrighted bars of music into an endless and seamless wall of funkadelic sound; simply fiddling around with the onscreen knobs is pretty cool, too.
Other features, some unique to Ibiza eJay, include an Animator, for your own visual effects, an FX Studio, that allows you to mix in your own sounds, a Time Stretcher, that ensures those imported samples hit the right beat, and a "Hyper Generator", a kind of on-disk synthesiser, for when you want to emit some truly left-field noises. For newbies to the world of eJay this is a must have product. As with previous versions of Dance eJay it is very user friendly, is packed with samples to choose from and is a must for anyone who wants to make dance style tunes without having to have a degree in making music. However there is a critisism to this installment of Dance eJay. They seem to have decided to restrict you to using Ibiza eJay only. I own Dance eJay 2 & 3 and with Dance eJay 3 you can use all of the samples from Dance eJay 2 and import all your old songs. For some bizarre reason you can't do this on Ibiza eJay and I think this lets it down badly. You have to either stick with the samples provided or hunt out new samples. I found this really annoying as I am a great fan of the eJay series and feel that people like me have been let down by not being able to use previous samples.Having said that it is a great music-making piece of software and will provide hours of fun. But I do think after those hours come to an end you will find you want to use more samples and not being able to get them from Dance eJay's 2 & 3 will be frustrating. To sum up I would recommend buying this for the beginner or even for the experienced user of eJay but be aware that you get exactly what it says on the box and no more hence my 3 stars only.

it is a great product and is so easy to use that even a 2 yer-old could use it. It has superb samples and I have created many a tune that I play when I dj. They punters all like them and I could go far using these kinds of program! well done! ejay
