This book is divided into 2 major sections.

First section - 5 steps:

Step 1. What sort of eCommerce Business Are You?
Good chapter because it clarifies from beginning your type of business and what suits or not to you. (before we cure the disease we should diagnose it :) )

Step 2. How to build right site.
Very well explained could be little be too complicated for non-economic or marketing savvy. But you will figure it out by reading chapter couple more times.

Well, my personal advise about this subject - look at the sites of your concurrence and learn how they did.

Step 3. Cost, profit and growth.
Chapter that explains margin, the ROI, scale therms.

Step 4. Products and promotions.
Gives ideas what kind of promotions you can run. Attention! It's written very briefly, if you are looking for something step-by-step you would need to dig yourself.

Step 5. Further marketing actions.
The whole marketing mix that you would need to work on: Content, Social Media, Email marketing, payed traffic and etc.

Second section - once you are done with setting up your commerce (website done, you calculated your ROI etc), real works starts. This is highlighted in this big section.

Conclusion: I really enjoyed the book, it's well - written (except some typos - they should kick the editor), it's very up-to-date, it's written by marketing person from the field and it covers everything you need to cover for the subject very structurally. In the book author sends you regularly to her website for additional materials (working sheets, tips and up-to -date info) but I didn't use them honestly.

This is well and truly a blueprint of how to embark on an ecommerce business. It expertly navigates the complexities of online selling and explains the basic principles for success. The fluidity of the ecommerce sector makes it easy to lose sight of the basics. This book helps bring the basics into sharp focus. Not only does it offer great online marketing advice, it offers great business advice too!

Whether you have a great idea for an ecommerce site and want to make it a reality, you already have an ecommerce site but want more traffic or you have a fully established ecommerce site and marketing plan, I believe this book will help you.

This book walks you through the set up process of your website helping sure you don't miss out on that vital piece of information in your brief. Most importantly, it then explains all the different online marketing channels available and helps you decide which are right for you and how to run them profitably.

Even if you have a fully operational and profitable ecommerce site, I believe reading this book will open your mind to avenues you may not of yet tried or opportunities to drive your current marketing channels even harder.

An excellent read for small start ups and larger companies alike.

eCommerce Masterplan leaves no stone unturned in its pursuit to be the definitive guide to online selling. The "5 steps to successful online selling" are outlined well in an easy to understand manner and whether beginner or expert you can be sure to take something from this book. The online content ensures the journey doesn't end at the last page and, along with the workbook like elements of the book, add extra value to the overall package and improved my understanding of the many different ways you can sell online. All in all, I have found the book to be worth every penny I spent.
