Business cards are essential for providing contact information and as an advertisement, but the simple cardboard card is limited in what it can hold. Enter the e-business card, a small, rectangular CD-R which can hold up to 35MB of multimedia material. Designed for today's IT business person, they offer a "more spectacular business card experience".
This kit contains everything you need to prepare and label e-business cards. The software offers 11 designer backdrops for your mini-presentation, complete with animations, buttons and all the other furniture you'd expect on a lively Web site.
You haven't got much freedom in how this all works, as apart from a choice of three different layouts, the format is fixed. You add your own content, of course, and can incorporate your images as well as text, but the overall size of a picture is limited to 400 pixels square.
Once you've created your screens and tied them all together into a miniature presentation, you can burn your card. The e-promocard, although rectangular, fits a standard CD-R drive and only the centre section is used when burning the normal spiral groove. Once burnt, you can set about labelling your cards. The kit includes labelling software, a sheet of labels and label applicator, so you can do the whole job.
The only drawbacks with the e-promocard system are that the e-business cards are quite bulky--you'd have a job getting more than three or four in your wallet--and that the blanks will cost you around €1.2 (80p) each. --Simon Williams

Simple, good value pack,

This pack consists of a few little disks, and some avery labels. Two pieces of software, one to design the labels with and one to create a flash presentation of five pages to go on the disk. The software is very limited in what it can do, but it also very quick and easy to use. For the presentation the interface is limited to four or five pages with 1 of 3 layouts on each (text only, and two combining text with photo). Some fairly jazzy backgrounds, button styles and back ground music etc. The CD label designer is similarly simple and quick. What is produced runs very reliably on destination machines (PC only though) and you needn't fear about a client complaining your CD just burned his operating system. For the price I think it is good value, though you will need to buy extra labels with it as two sheets give no room for a mistake! The software is very simple, but that does mean you can knock something presentable and reliable together in a few hours. If you are keen to do a more complex presentation then you don't need a piece of software like this just programming/html or flash skills and a lot more spare time.

This is a very good program to start making this kind of presentation with, however, I feel that many people will quickly get frustrated with it's limitations. You can't change fonts when entering text etc. It does use a very good simple, step by step wizard though to get you started. Ran well with no errors.
