The cast also features Bob Hoskins and Damian Lewis, whilst also attracting fleeting appearances from football icons Steven Gerrard and Kenny Dalglish. The latter pair, as you might expect, are safer in their primary careers. Eggleton, though, makes a good fist of his role as Will, even if the material does him few favours. Inevitably, his journey to the final is a problematic one, for reasons we won’t spoil. Perhaps just as inevitability, it’s a bumpy one from a narrative standpoint, too. A tighter, better script would have rejuvenated a film that, as it stands, relies on a lot of footballing goodwill to get through.
But Will does just about have enough in the tank. And as the search for the central character continues, while he runs off in search of his final dream, chances are you will be rooting for him to reach his goal. Beyond the film, the disc doesn’t have much else to commend it, but at least the title feature is worth a spin. --Jon Foster
As a Liverpool fan I thoroughly enjoyed this. I even watched it with a girl at uni who was bored to death by football and she loved the story. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Invision Game Community (Josh)
