It has all the mad-cap Peter Sellers entertainment that you'd expect. Of course, it's far-fetched, but that's what it's supposed to be!

Sellers puts on a good performance, as usual, as a supposed master criminal, who escapes from jail in an entertaining way. This, of course, gives him the opportunity to commit a real crime, but also save his family, at the same time!

If you like Peter Sellers, this is definitely a film for you. Don't expect it to be serious, but do look out for some good acting, some daft scenes and a completely mad script! I enjoy it each time I watch it.

A very amusing watch-once and forget about it film, I wouldn't say this was fantastic by any means but it's very entertaining all the same. Peter Sellers is a fugitive who poses as a film director in order to obtain a shipment of gold (while 'filming') by deceiving the welcoming village who are enthusiastic extras. Stereotyping Italians to no end (although Sellers has stereotyped every country in the world at some point and you know you love it!), he breezes through this film with his usual comic charm. Like the Party, it's completely pointless but will leave you laughing your head off.

This brilliant, how anyone could not find this film that way astounds me, yes it's far fectched but it is a comedy, Victor Mature hamming it up is worth watching just for his performance, and The Hollies singing the theme song tops it all off.I watch this film every 3 months...get it.

AFTER THE FOX is one of my all time favourite Peter Sellers films.
It has a great story line and fantastic comedy performances from all involved...Victor Mature's self parody is beautiful!
Oh...and just to top it off, a musical score by Burt Bacharach......
They dont make them like this anymore!!!!
Excellent!

The opening "Pink Pantheresque" sequence promised much, Sellers a master of disguise and master thief pursued by the police, directed by Vittorio De Sica written by Neil Simon and starring Brit Ekland and Victor Mature.Ultimately the film tried to incorporate too many themes.Ealing comedy, a satire on movie making and the star struck village policeman. Victor Mature was a delight as the over the hill movie star but miscast. By the time the beach scenes were being shot I was hoping the boat would be fixed so the film could reach a natural conclusion as Seller's hamming it up as the auteur director was waring thin. The picture quality was OK on my 32 inch. A worthy addition to the collection for Peter Sellers fans

Peter Sellers, Victor Mature and Britt Ekland in a comedy about an italian criminal mastermind (Sellers) who dreams up a brilliant plan to receive the stolen gold of Cairo. Victor Mature sends himself up as a vain, ageing actor, and Sellers is excellent as the scheming italian crook. Ekland plays Sellers younger sister, an aspiring teenage actress. Great musical score especially the title sequence, it will be in your head for days. Its a good film, well worth a view!
