Series 5 lost it a bit but this series has much improvement and is written well with some very funny lines and a more believable storyline.
The new family...the Dykes, have fitted in well. There's more banter from the Garveys who have arrived with their now very teenage son michael
Liam and Kenneth have larger roles. Donald and Jacqueline are in top form Guest appearances include Mathew Kelly, Rusty Lee and Joan collins
It all makes for some great viewing and we watched it over 2 evening and disappointed that was the end. Hope there will be a series 7

If I'm honest, the last couple of series of 'Benidorm' left me thinking how good the show used to be, and I did feel that the quality was dropping, particularly during the last lot.

Season six has been considerably better, and I've enjoyed every episode. The show has benefited from The Dykes, a new family to join in the adventures, and the characters are all likable and the actors very good.

Sheila Reid has always played battleaxe Madge to perfection, and she is still a consistent scene stealer. She's one of those characters that has never let the side down, and if she was to ever leave, the show would be all the poorer for it.

The unexpected celebrity cameos are always good, and even Joan Collins (whom I've never rated as an actress) was entertaining as the Solana Hotel's boss. Look out for other appearances by journalist and 'Loose Women' Janet Street Porter, ''Tonight Matthew'' Kelly, and Ken Morley, forever remembered as Reg Holdsworth in 'Coronation Street'.

It's all great lighthearted fun, and a big improvement on the sometimes dire series 5.

It has been mentioned in the press that the Garvey's are being written out and in my opinion I think it is time for a change anyway. Madge has now becoming annoying rather than funny, the same old phrases just regurgitated over and over again! There are still some funny moments but not really laugh out loud as per the earlier seasons. Not too sure of the new family either, seems they are trying too hard to get the laughs and sometimes it doesn't work. Get rid of Joyce Temple Savage and bring back Crissy Rock, the character adds to the idea of it being a 'cheap as chips' 'holiday from hell'! The little interjections from Gavin & Troy were superb, very ascerbic and cutting. The interplay between Geoff Maltby and his mother were funny. The hairdresser could be a great character but doesn't really do anything at the moment although there are some funny bits with Liam. I can take or leave the Les / Leslie character which again could be developed if they stuck to one or the other. Martin was a good character as was his wife but probably would not work season after season. Donald & Jacqueline are good value when they don't over do it.
In my honest opinion I think the series needs to be freshened up a little and go back to the short sharp banter that appeared in the 1st 3 series and perhaps go back to the 30 minutes format!

Being series six I was very pleasantly surprised to find this show is still stacked high with humour. Not just a few laughs - it still has me rolling with laughter. All the regular main characters are here again and still getting themselves into hilarious predicaments, plus a short return for one of the earlier series characters. Some of the younger actors are really beginning to mature and the timing of the established cast is impeccable. And with Joan Collins making a star-studded appearance towards the end, her role is one of the funniest things I've seen in ages (if you remember her from Dynasty, check out the shoes as she steps out of the Rolls). Priceless.

Basically in this series the manager prepares the resort for the busy summer season.

This is the best season yet, the person who put together the cast produced a master stroke when they hired Bel Powley as Bianca Dyke.

Not only is she one of the most attractive, beautiful and stunning actresses around, she is a rather good all round actress.

Her in the white bikini could quite become one of the iconic images ever on british television. Its stunning and it makes you wonder how good she would be in a film like Fanny Hill.

The season flows nicely and there are other funny and likeable characters.
