This is a very well-made product that enables you to charge your 9700 without constantly plugging/unplugging the micro USB connector. My biggest niggle with the 9700 is that the force required to insert that connector is going to cause damage sooner or later, and the charging pod eliminates that possibility. My pod is permanently connected to my computer, and I give my phone a couple of hours in it every few days.

The drawback is that you have to remove your phone from its case to use the charging pod, but I guess you can't have everything.

I am over the moon with this item, I only use it with the mains charger as a bedside alarm clock so it is constantly plugged in. I had to change a few settings but when placed in the pod it shows a dim clock face all night and the coverage LED stops illuminating the room all night thankfully when it automatically goes in to bedside mode. I also like the dim white/blue 'ON' light built in so you do not have to fumble around looking for it when the lights are off! I recommend this to all 9700 owners.

Works well as a charger and I agree it reduces the risk of damaging the connector. It doesn't (at least on my PC) synch with the desktop software though, so you have to remove the cable from the pod to put into the phone directly to link data to the PC. That's a shame, but a minor niggle.
