A very warm down-filled gilet ideal to wear over a fleece in icy weather. It's windproof, durable, hard-wearing and has a roll-up hood in the collar. The shape could be improved - it's rather box-like with rectangular sides so isn't a particularly good fit.

At 4.5cm thick, this is quite a bulky gilet so isn't for use under an equally bulky down jacket and with its large armhole openings is draughty without a mid-layer but is fine when worn over a fleece and/or beneath a waterproof outer layer.

If you're looking for a good fit then choose the Rab Microlight Gilet or North Face Nupste - The North Face Womens Nuptse Vest
