    I wasn't sure which Vax carpet washer to buy but I'm so glad I chose this one! I will say right at the beginning that the only downside is it is quite noisy (although I don't have another carpet washer to compare it to - so it could be much quieter than most, I just can't say). This machine needs to be assembled but it is all really simple and it didn't take me very long before I was filling it up ready to go. Instead of filling straight from the hot tap, I used a measuring jug as there isn't any markings on the tank except for the 'max' line. I also used the Pet cleaning solution.Vax AAA Pet Concentrate 1L.

    This really works wonders, and leaves the carpets (and rugs) only slightly damp. When I turned the rug over, I couldn't see any damp patches at all. Everything dried completely within an hour or so. The hose attachment is easy to use and was great for doing small patches and hard to reach areas (also round the skirting to make sure everything was clean). There wasn't alot of foam like with other cleaners (I'd used one before which I'd hired from a diy store) and everywhere was left with a clean, fresh smell.

    I really recommend this carpet washer; it is quick and easy to use and great value for money.

    We purchased the cleaner to freshen up our carpets and lift the pile, which did the job very well.
    My only observation is the tool holder supplied does not hold any attachments, seems this is the wrong fitting for the cleaner.
    Other wise a very satisfactory product performance.

    I recently bought the Vax Rapide Classic, after assembelling it we found the hose will not fit into the 'Lower Hose Caddy', the ends of the hose are round and 2 out of 3 of the holes where they're supposed to fit are square....This means that one end of the hose is free to clatter into walls, furniture etc when using the carpet washer. No matter how much you try you can't fit a round peg into a square hole! I have tried to contact Vax, both by phone and a couple of e mails,but no one has replied. It lookes as if the hose caddy which is fitted on the cleaner has been re-designed and they've forgotten to alter the ends of the hose! I could have saved money if I'd bought a model without the hose attatchment! If anyone from Vax reads this....PLEASE GET IN TOUCH .....(think that's a long shot!!!)
