Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Full HD LCD TV with Superb Image Quality, Wide Viewing Angle and Advanced Networking Capabilities

The wide 178° viewing angle* ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

Ultimate Contrast

Enjoy realistic starlit skies right in your living room. Improvements in panel contrast and scene-adaptive contrast gamma correction have achieved a high contrast ratio of 50,000:1. The backlight tuning area is also expanded to achieve deeper blacks.

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.

It's easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

V-Audio Surround gives depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from digital signal processor.

VIERA Link Experience – One Remote, Total Control

Operate your entire home entertainment hub with the comfort of just a single remote control. Through VIERA Link on-screen menus you have easy access to your movies, music and even videos* on your iPod®**

VIERA Link Functionality

Although Panasonic's engineers spend a lot of time thinking about how to enhance the already formidable picture quality of the latest VIERA Plasma TVs, Blu-ray player, or the audio clarity of Panasonic Home Cinema Systems; they do also think about "friendly" technologies: technologies which make operating these devices easier for users -- an innovative example is VIERA Link.

Viera link technology connects all your home entertainment

What is VIERA Link?

How are people currently operating their AV products? Suppose you want to watch the latest film on a Blu-ray DiscTM: first you would have to power up the Blu-ray player with your Blu-ray player remote control, and then you need to turn on your TV and select the correct AV channel input using your TV remote control.

After that you would switch back to the Blu-ray player remote control and press 'Play'. In case you also have a Home Cinema System you would need another remote control to operate your Home Cinema System properly.

So before you can lean back and enjoy your movie, you are forced to use three completely different remote controls! VIERA Link on simply allows you to operate the three systems, your TV, Blu-ray player and Home Cinema System with just one remote control.

One Remote, Total Control: The VIERA Link Experience

VIERA Link allows just one point of contact between you and your entire entertainment system, because by pressing the VIERA Link button on your remote, the GUI (graphical user interface) on-screen menus allow you to choose directly, no matter if you would like to watch a DVD, play a CD or even browse the latest music or video on your iPod®**

Smart, easy setup with VIERA Link

VIERA Link also automatically sets up your various AV components. For example, when you first connect your DVD Home Cinema System to a VIERA TV via an HDMI cable, all of the necessary settings such as menu language and aspect ratio are automatically loaded onto your Home Cinema System, meaning that you don’t have to waste time and effort repeating the set-up again. With VIERA Link you have one remote, one graphic menu and a complete entertainment experience.

*To enjoy iPod® video content, you will need to connect the Panasonic Home Cinema System via a SCART cable to your TV. **iPod® not included. iPod® is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the US and other countries.

VIERA Eco friendly features

The major environmental impacts are emission of CO 2, waste, and chemical substances. Panasonic focuses its efforts to reduce these CO2 emissions as far as possible already during the product development phase.

VIERA link control buttonVIERA Link – saving energy with Eco Mode

As people become more aware about environmental concerns, the power consumption of their electronic products presents itself. To improve on the environmental impact of power consumption, Panasonic has introduced an Eco Mode as standard in most of its VIERA TVs. By activating the Eco Mode, a photo sensor measures the ambient light conditions of the room and the picture settings adjust automatically. As a result, the TV uses less power in darkly-lit conditions without any compromise of the picture quality.

VIERA Tough Panel

Build to resist – VIERA Tough Panel* Panasonic VIERA Plasma TVs* are protected by a front sheet of glass resistant to impacts of up to four joules. This is particularly reassuring for families with small children who may otherwise inadvertently damage the screen when playing. Also, the growing success of games consoles using motion controllers has led to an increase in TVs being accidentally struck and damaged by controllers which have slipped out of player’s hands. Thanks to VIERA plasma TVs’ Tough Panel you don’t need to worry. And what’s more, the protective panel makes cleaning easier too, simply wipe with a soft cloth when necessary.

*Not applicable to VIERA Z1 TV series.

Panasonic VIERA Link

VIERA Link uses the control signals that are transmitted through an HDMI cable for automated functions. Just press the VIERA Link button on the VIERA TV remote to control your entire Panasonic components including Home Cinema Systems, HD camcorder and Lumix digital cameras.

In 2009 the VIERA Link concept has been further developed, providing you even more functions. For example, Eco Link which helps you to save energy by putting all connected Panasonic devices into sleep mode when they are not used.

Turning your home TV-viewing experience into a cinematic one

Enjoy films at home as the directors originally intended them for the cinema. Hollywood movies are shot at 24 frames per second which gives films the superb, cinematic, slightly flickering quality we associate with them at the movie theatre. When recorded to DVD or Blu-ray Disc™, they are also generally encoded using 24p (24 frames per second, progressive) technology.

24p Playback

For a thrilling cinema-feeling at home, you need more than just brilliant colours and the highest contrast possible: like the cinema projector, the television should also be able to show films at their original frame rate of 24 pictures per second.

When watching Blu-ray Disc™ films on a NeoPDP TV, the television synchronises its image reproduction rate with the original, precisely rendering the film’s true speed – a must-have for experiencing that genuine cinema feeling in the comfort of your living room. In VIERA LCD TVs, every frame is shown 4 times, which increases the 24p signal to 96Hz. So you can enjoy movies at their original frame rate, just as the director intended.

24p Smooth Film

However, the issues start when we want to view them on our home TVs which operate at a slightly higher number of frames per second. For perfectly smooth movie images at home, 24p Smooth Film increases the number of frames displayed. That means new frames are inserted, based on the original 24 frames of the movie source, and the frame count is increased to up to 96 frames per second, resulting in unrivalled smoothness and motion transition.

    5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent all-rounder at a great price, 15 May 2009
This review is from: Panasonic TX-L32S10 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
After trying to replace my 2 year old Panasonic LCD HD TV (after one of the kids threw a toy through the screen) I was getting somewhat dismayed. I tried new Toshiba LCD, Panasonic Plasma and then thought I would settle for this brand new to market Panasonic.

The picture quality is absolutely excellent - we watch Freeview TV (not an HD source) and the quality of Freeview is unbelievable. Xbox 360 is fantastic in HD too.

If you have a Panasonic HDD recorder you can pause live TV using the Vera link, and control all Panasonic devices from the one controller.

Only thing I do not like (which is unfortunately common to all Panasonic's now) is the GuidePlus EPG (Programme Guide) - it displays annoying adverts in the left-hand column of the guide, which although probably generates Panasonic some extra cash - are not interesting, and I can not turn them off (looked through all the forums etc.). Do not really like the idea of my kids being able to see adverts without my choice.

They do not mention this in any of their literature (GuidePlus is mentioned as a new standard in EPG - but the EPG is the same as my old Panasonic, except with space taken up for advertising!).

A small rant on what is otherwise an absolutely excellent TV.

5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the best 32" TV on the market today, 25 July 2009

This review is from: Panasonic TX-L32S10 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freeview (Electronics)
Having owned a series of Panasonic TVs over the years (all of which are still working perfectly) when it came to upgrading from a 26" to a 32" there really was no need to look anywhere else. Looking at all the LCDs lined up in a specialist retailer it was clear that the Pana exudes a more quality feel than the likes of Sony, Toshiba & Samsung, ok you pay a bit of a premium but this isn't the type of thing you buy every day. Out of the box the TV easy easy to get up and running, attaching the base is pretty simple, just slot it in place and put 4 screws in (easier when you have a magnetic head screw driver). Like all panasonics you just have to plug it in, fill in your details for security purposes and it will automatically set itself up, also when it comes to operation, of all the menus are very intuitive. The picture is fantastic and has stunning definition even without an HD input and I certainly find that darker images are more true in colour. Playing 'The Blue Planet' on DVD was a revelation and it wasn't even an upscaling DVD player. The sound is good quality but I still can't work out where it actually comes from because the gloss black tv surround shows no evidence of speakers. I only have one problem and that is that it will end up costing more money as I now want to upgrade to an upscaling dvd or blu-ray player to make the most of this incredible panel.

A few of bits of information worth mentioning are that the dimensions are H55.1 x W79.8 x D21.7cm including the stand. And that you have no shortage of inputs with 3 HDMIs and 2 Scarts. Also you have an SD slot to show off your pictures so it's goodbye to the digital photo frame.

    Overall, I couldn't be happier!

Having owned Panasonic tvs in the past and having no trouble with them i decided to buy the TX-L32S10B which is the 2009 model of the highly recommended TX-L32ZD80.Out of the box, fix the stand, switch on and the tv auto scans for channels so you are up and running in about 30 mins. The picture quality is on par with the earlier model which is excellant, but the sound is not of the same quality. Bought from Amazon at a very good price with fast delivery i am very pleased with the tv and would recommend to anyone looking to buy a full hd tv.
