Tune in to superb sound from a surprisingly compact design. The MC147 Micro System will enhance your living space while enriching your music listening experience. Just press Play to enjoy room-filling, dynamic bass sounds. The MC147 Micro System is a compact hi-fi with CD playback and FM/MW radio functionality. It's comapct design and great acoustics ensure you'll be able to fit it in and enjoy a great listening experience just about anywhere in the home. Despite it's compact size, the sound output is suprisingly big thanks in no small part to the Dynamic Bass Boost feature which adds depth and drama to music all of flavours. Above all else, the MC147 is easy to use and features classic lifestyle functions such as Wake-Up and Sleep Timer so you can have your drop off or wake up to the sounds you want to hear rather than a regular alarm. It also comes with an easy-to-use remote control.

Play CD, CD-R and CD-RW discs
Philips is known for making products which are compatible with many discs available in the market. This audio system lets you enjoy music from CD, CD-R and CD-RW. A single CD can store up to 10 hours of music. CD-RW (CD-Rewritable Compatible) means that your audio system can play both CD-Recordable (CD-R) and CD-Rewritable (CD-RW) discs. CD-R discs are recordable once and can be played on any audio CD player while CD-RW discs can be recorded and rewritten multiple times and can only be played back on compatible audio CD players.

Dynamic Bass Boost for deep and dramatic sound
Dynamic Bass Boost maximises your music enjoyment by emphasising the bass content of the music throughout the range of volume settings - from low to high – at the touch of a button! Bottom-end bass frequencies usually get lost when the volume is set at a low level. To counteract this, Dynamic Bass Boost can be switched on to boost bass levels, so you can enjoy consistent sound even when you turn down the volume.

My parents love this little player. It's easy to use and doesn't have many buttons to press, so nothing confusing there.
Great for that little bit of background music.

This system is really neat - it just fits on a small table and the sound quality is excellent. The radio reception is good but could be better - it may have something to do with using an indoor aerial. For the money I would say it's excellent value.
