This is a great product to look at neat and tidy and would fit well in a living

room it will playback a wide of different formats unfortunately it suffers from lip sync problems
especially for vob (DVD) files making films difficult to watch, when it works with other formats it works well
The menu system is very basic and a bit unresponsive. If envizage could sort out the lip sync problems
and get a better menu system this could be a great system

Having umed and ared over several media players to replace my first one that I thought would be it, I found the Cyclone HD 1000GB USB / LAN / HDMI Media Centre Recorder & Player Drive. Having received mine got it out the box, set it up in 15 minutes (been disabled for 21 years) read the instructions. Over 2 days I have it fully set up with LAN set up, (2 days because I had to change security on shared files on computer) harder than the media reader.
I am limited on space so I have my DVD collection on hard drive as I can't walk to change discs my CD collection the same, Photo albums to save space. I now have nearly 4 TB available to the media player.
Buying was based on
1) It looked good (it does)
2) The right price (It is I bought A 1.5 TB hdd for �130.00 last year this is better and cheaper)
3) It does everything I want plays all the video formats all the music formats.(It does and so much more)
4) It's a gadget(AND WHAT A GADGET)
Would I recommend it, yes but would ask why haven't they got one.

You can set it like a Video recorder but I have found if I put it on standby it didn't record back to manual.

this is a good multi media hard drive my only complaint is the picture quality when you play back recorded films off a dvd and i cant get it to hook up to my sky box.
