Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Infiniti Blu-Ray follows on from our sucess in CD's and DVD's by producing the best quality discs possible. We have built our reputation on sheer excellence in terms of what passes our quality control tests, and from that we can guarantee satisfaction with every disc.

Product Description

The advent of Blu-ray technology has led to the introduction of high capacity storage discs to meet the demand caused by the rapid growth of high definition television (HDTV). Blu-ray discs get their name from blue laser technology. The shorter wavelength of the laser is the reason it is blue in colour. The blue laser has a wavelength of 405nm compared with the wavelength of 650nm for DVD which utilises red laser technology. The benefit of having a blue laser with a shorter wavelength means it is possible to write smaller data pits and therefore vastly increase the amount of data on the disc. Blu-ray discs offer 3 to 5 times the storage capacity of a standard recordable DVD disc, enabling the recording, rewriting and playback of high definition video (HD).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price on Infiniti Classic Bd-re Blu-ray, 17 April 2009
By Mr. Royston Pykett "Honest Ken" (Derbyshire) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Infiniti Classic Bd-re Blu-ray 25GB Slim Jewel Case (5pk) - Rsbdrejc (Electronics)
I didn't expect too much from these discs having been through the Cd & DVD failures that were very prominent in early disc production. What a surprise when every disc performed flawlessly. With a bit of care you can even use a blue ray disc to store normal DVD format but a lot more of it. Ok it's not a normal DVD as such but it does mean that on a normal blue ray player you can cram 5 times as much of those dreadful home movies on it and keep them in one place. For those who have invested in the now defunct HD media format you can even transfer the film on to a blue ray if you know what you are doing. I would challenge anyone condemning this as a breach of copyright as we were never told how fast our expensive movies would become obsolete!
Good discs and a good supplier in this case.

Bought these for a Panasonic Blu Ray recorder and a PC with Liteon Bluray recorder drive. No problems at all.

Play-back is great on Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony drives I have tested.

Highly recommended!
