We are very pleased with the Bissell Aroma Pro Carpet Shampooer; it is very easy to use and the tank in tank idea makes filling up and emptying a straightforward procedure. The machine is heavy but as we move it around on its wheels we don't have to lift it at all. The suction is very good and the carpets are dry within about 2-3 hours. The lavender essence that comes with it (and which we have since purchased cheaper than anywhere else from Bissell Shop Direct) is very good but if the carpets are dirty it does get used up quickly. It leaves a nice fresh smell though and the carpets come up very clean. We even managed to get rid of some old stains, which we thought were there for good. It also works well on wood floors with the hard floor cleaner. The reason we only give it 4 stars is because the tool holder does not hold the tools properly and if the upright tool slips or gets turned around in the holder, it sprays water everywhere. We have managed to tie it in place for the meantime but will be contacting Bissell with regard to a replacement tool holder. We therefore cannot comment on Bissell's after sales service yet.

I bought this cleaner after much research and so far I am very pleased with the results. Dirty marks on cream coloured carpets have now disappeared and I am about to try using the hard floor tool on the cushioned flooring in the kitchen. It also appears not to be necessary to clean the whole carpet if you just want to remove a few dirty marks - obviously this does depend on the state of your carpet but try a little patch in an unobtrusive area. In the beginning I experienced a slight setback when after an hour of use the cleaner began to spit out hard bits of black plastic and stopped working. However, I rang up Tribal UK (online shop) who sent me a new one the next day. I later discovered that the reason the cleaner had stopped working was because the brush belt had snapped and got chewed up (these are easy to replace and since both the drive belt and brush belt seem to be prone to snapping, having a replacement to hand is advisable). Refilling the cleaning solution and water are easy and whilst some people comment that it the machine is quite heavy, well what do they expect with a cleaner that accommodates a tub of water, cleaning solution and tools! All in all an excellent buy.

as well as being the "which" best buy its the cheapest upright in its class
it does the job brillantly
easy to use
loads of tools
cleans and drys the carpet very well
cant fault it
