Manufacturer's Description

Audio precision in style
Creative's GigaWorks T3 speaker system brings you music as you've never heard it before. Blending innovative design, the best components and state-of-the-art technologies, it offers a new level of excellence in music listening on your PC/Mac or MP3 player.

SLAM subwoofer delivers deep bass
The SLAM subwoofer delivers
deep, tight bass

The two satellites deliver the most accurate sound in great detail, thanks to the premium drivers that are tuned to deliver a rich mid-range and clear highs. Music from the satellites combines naturally with bass from the subwoofer, which uses SLAM design (Symmetrically Loaded Acoustic Module) with three drivers to deliver excellent dynamics for deep, tight bass. The GigaWorks T3 features patent-pending Low Standby Power technology to reduce power consumption in standby mode, and for total convenience it has a wired remote with volume control, plus Aux-In and headphone connector.

Speakers designed for appearance and performance
These speakers have more than just good looks; they are built to produce a rich sound with enough presence to fill any room. Each satellite speaker has an audiophile-quality driver surrounded by a stylish chrome trim ring.

The SLAM subwoofer features three individual drivers and the type of deep bass you'd expect from a much larger unit. Highly engineered and extensively tuned, the portless design utilises a master driver and dual pressure drivers housed in a highly compact inert enclosure. This three-driver configuration delivers the quick transient response of a small driver together with the high-output capability and deep bass extension of larger drivers. Stick it anywhere in the room to feel the explosions in your soundtracks or the drumbeats and bass riffs in your music.

easy access volume control and heapdhone jack
Twist dial wired remote for volume
control and aux/headphone connection

Control and connections at your fingertips
Volume is controlled from a stand-alone pod, so you can choose where it goes for convenience and easy access. The large, easy-grip dial lets you set the perfect volume level, simply twist the dial to increase or decrease the music volume.

The pod also has an integrated auxiliary input--no more crawling around behind your equipment to find a place to plug in your MP3 player. Simply plug your MP3 player into the auxiliary input and sit back and enjoy your music. Also you can easily plug your headphones into the built-in jack, for private listening.

Power-saving technology
When you're not enjoying the GigaWorks T3, the system's power-save mode consumes far less energy than a standard speaker system. Each GigaWorks T3 satellite speaker measures 93mm x 149mm x 76mm (WxHxD) and weighs 352 grams. The subwoofer measures 236mm x 213mm x 287mm (WxHxD) and weighs 5.9 kilograms.

Creative produce a wide range of speakers from small desktop multimedia speakers, to surround sound 5.1 systems. See the range here.

3.0 out of 5 stars Deep bass, high treble medium small speakers, 13 Jan 2009
By Qi J. Ting "Daniel" (UK) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I own a Gigaworks T20 for almost 2 years now after Megaworks 250D. I like my T20 very much except that it lacks of bass. Thus, I look into Gigaworks T3 speakers hopefully it will punch in some bass for some music and games.

In fact, T3 bass is very deep. It is deep and strong where it shakes the table at low volume which comparable to Megaworks 250D 7/8inch sub-woofer with a lot smaller size form. It is good to have strong bass for movie and games. However, it is too strong and has to stay at 30% level for most songs. I wish it has game mode and song mode on the remote so I don't have to tune it frequency.

The sub-woofer bass level can be tune at the back of the sub-woofer itself but it wouldn't totally turn off even you turn to minimum level which is not a big deal to me. The cross-over frequency of this sub-woofer is unknown but I would have guess it is pretty low as it doesn't provide much details in from the sub-woofer.

The satellite speakers are surprisingly small and does look nice. The satellites also sound crisp and clear but somehow too metallic and lack of warm where T20 did a better job. These satellites sounds un-natural for soft music with overwhelming treble and weak mid frequency response. The disappointing thing is that basic feature like tuning the treble is not possible. The remote control provides AUX, earphone interfaces and volume control but not treble level control. As I am trying to set up 4.1 surround with combination of T20 and T3, changing treble on system will affect my T20 as well.

As the satellite speakers doesn't perform as I wish, I removed the satellites from sub-woofer and listen to the combination of T3 sub-woofer and my old T20 speakers sounds. Unfortunately, probably because that the cross-over frequency of the sub-woofer doesn't match with these speakers. It doesn't sound right. So, I hook the original satellites and sub-woofer as rear speakers which actually does acceptable good job.

Overall it is a good speakers for most people out there looking for deep bass and high treble if not too worry about the price. However, it fall below my expectation for hundred over pound pricey speaker. I mean I could have bought a lot cheaper Megaworks 250D and punch equally strong and deep bass although the product is obsolete.

Conclusion, the sub-woofer performs as I expect which is deep but lacks of details, satellite speakers have too much treble and lack of mid-frequency response. Thus making Gigaworks T3 not a perfect music speaker. Anyway, it is still a good quality speaker for movie and games. I would give 5 star if it is priced below 100 pound.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some suggestions about this product., 26 April 2009
Three major problems with this otherwise excellent product:

    1) The volume of the two small speakers is too low, great if you have sensitive neighbours or are giving it to a noisy member of your family, but a problem when the sound quality of something you are listening to is not good or there is a lot of background noise where you are.

    2) The speaker system has no 'off' switch and remains on standby wasting electricity. Please add an 'off' switch at the point where the volume is turned right down.

    3) for some crazy reason the volume control for the Woofer is at the BACK of the woofer making it very hard to access as you cannot see it. This is a big problem if the woofer is on the floor and you have to keep getting down on your hands and knees. Gigaworks should understand that different music, game and video has different settings, especially when listening to YouTube. I would add this control to the speaker volume control if possible.

Gigaworks are on the right path and will hopefully listen and develop this promising product. It would be worth paying more if these issues were corrected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic, but a bit pricey!, 21 Nov 2009
By L. V. HUYNH (UK) - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)
I have just been using these speakers for about 1 week now and ordered it from Amazon. Arrived when it did and in good condition.

The speakers itself is small and packs out some sounds. It covers alot of ranges and definately has clear highs and the lows are deep, warm and filling. The mid ranges are ok but I'm not too sure how to analyse them so I will say they are as what i would expect them to be.The subwoofer is just crazy. There is loads of bass and can contain more if you really want it but it scares me too have so much. I keep it on the middle setting just to keep my heart working. I have thrown classical/pop/rock/punk/ at it and so far i really enjoy listening to it. Its perfect for a home office or a bedroom.

I use mine with an iMac and use the extra connections on the dial for my HD TV and that is connected to my PS3. I can hardly find any fault in this at all. However i have two recommendations,

    1) make a 5.1 system with the same quality speakers and sub.
    2) a little cheaper as its a little pricey but you pay what you get for here.

The bass control on the subwoofer is placed on the back but unlike others i'm not fussed about it as I'm quite fit and healthy so dont mind getting down to tweak for perfection. I'm not sure how healthy and fit the others are to say that it causes too much of a problem. So much of a problem that they knock of 1 star from it? Hmmm....pretty harsh I would say.
