I have a couple of these that I use with brollies for portraits etc, or as backlights.

Yes, they are cheaply made, but you get a set of clip in gels, and the have a guide number of 28, what more do you expect for the price.

If you want a proper dedicated flash, you can't scrimp - save up and buy the 430EX of 580EX. If you want a bit of extra light to use in an amateur studio setup - then they're perfect. I use them with a cheap wireless trigger Eletronic Flash Trigger for Canon 380ex,420ex,430ex,550ex,580ex,Canon 50D,40D,30D,5D,1Ds,1000D,450D,400D,S5-IS. + one extra receiver or slave cells.

Again the flash trigger doesn't maintain dedication, it's just a trigger!

I bought it as an alternative to the Canon flashgun , I used it a few times but does not work properly , my canon 40D software does not recognize it and therefore that brings lots of problems.
