Kodak W1020 10" Wifi Photo Frame - Wifi Capable, Download Photos & Web Content Direct From Your PC, Touch Sensitive Controls, MP3 Player, 512MB Memory - WhiteThe picture quality on this frame is good. I bought it after a related model was recommended in PCPro. It is best producing a slide show from memory. I have thousands of photos on mediashare on my network and it could not cope with this although it found all of the media on computers and NAS drives on my network without difficulty. Once it tries to load and play a large number of photos it sits there with the timer icon turning until it reboots after a few minutes. I couldn't cancel the operation short of switching it off. The on line news etc from the kodak framechannel is probably not worth bothering with. I don't know how good it is at playing on web-based photo collections as I don't use these services. The frame is easy to use, looks good and seems well made and starts by downloading its own firmware updates once it has connected to your network... all very trick. The problem was that after a couple of days the power supply whistled. This was not the quiet hum that sometimes comes from a PSU - we've all probably got loads of these plugged in around the house - this was an audible whistle that was intrusive and meant that I couldn't have used the frame in a 'normally' quiet room. I replaced it (Amazon were fantastic with the returns process - incredibly easy) but the second did exactly the same. The PSU doesn't start whistling on day one, so it isn't as if this is what it usually sounds like and I am sure that it is a fault. It may be in the batch - both frames had a manufacture date of Aug 08, but until it is fixed I would be aware of this if you are thinking of getting one.

Overall the product is great however the support for this from Kodak is poor, I made several attempts to reolve issues with the PC software and found that my questions were never answered. I also asked if there was a way to reset the photo frame back to factory defaults and was initially told there was a reset button which there is not and neither is there a way to do this with the controls according to the last support email I had.

the documentaion Book and help within the application was also poor.

I found it easier to create slide shows with google picasa 3 and transfer this to sd memory than using the kodak supplied s/w

Also be warned if you share out a lot of picutures from your PC then the frame takes for ever to start when you power on.

Great idea of wireless access, let down by poor pc s/w and support

Good: I am very impressed with the picture quality of the photo frame.

Bad: The WiFi is poor. Getting a connection to my network was not a problem and the photo frame updated it's firmware staight away. However, when using the supplied software or IE to access the frame wirelessly the interface is slow and unresponsive to the point of being virtually unusable. Further, accessing web content is hit and miss - sometimes it will work and moments later it won't.

Overall: It's not worth paying the extra for the WiFi capability. If I were looking at buying another frame I would by the M1020 and save a bit of money.
