I bought this product absolutely clueless on how to install a filter, but the instructions were very detailed and simple to perform correctly. The charcoal filter in addition to the grease filter really seems to make a difference I think. Cooking smells are definitely reduced since the installation.

I bought this pack thinking I would need a carbon filter but found that the hood I was working on actually had a plastic filter cartridge (looking somewhat like a land-mine). The grease filter included in this pack was big enough for the hood and was easy to fit and looked the part, so in that regard, with a spare in the cupboard, I was satisfied with the product.
For your information, if you do find a plastic carbon-filter housing, the most efficient and cost effective way to refurb it is to buy a tub of activated charcoal pellets, clean out the old rubbish, wash the two plastic halves in your dishwasher, re-assemble and re-fill, it worked a treat for me!
