We bought this our 3 year old lad for Christmas and he loves it. He has a few jigsaws and he plays with most of them, but this one has definitely turned out to be a favourite. I think the reason is the large number which are in strong colours against a white background. It makes it easier for him to complete the 24 piece puzzle. It also makes it easier for him to recognise the numbers and tell us what they are.

In all an excellent jigsaw for helping your child learn the numbers up to 10, as well as developing logic and motor skills.

Got this for my 2.5 yr old and she adores it. She already knows her numbers (to recite) and this jigsaw has helped her to recognise them by sight. It is a perfect size and durable. She has to make this jigsaw up every night with her dad before bed. Would highly recc it.

I bought this puzzle for my 2-year-old nephew who is a big fan of the Numberjacks and it looked like something he would get quite a long time out of. The pieces are quite big so easy to manage and they fit together quite easily. The finished picture is a sort of chart which shows each Numberjack (the figure) along with the number written as a word, the corresponding number of squares (their "Buddy Blocks") and a group of objects (four bells, seven stars etc). This can be used for learning about how numbers can be represented in different ways and the items underneath are all in different colours so the picture can be used to talk about colours too. The enclosed leaflet of activity suggestions is a good idea if you struggle for inspiration/new ideas. The only drawback was that from the information I had read before I ordered it, I was expecting the Numberjacks themselves to be whole pieces (i.e. each would be cut out and fit in as the shapes they are, rather than on the more conventional "jigsaw puzzle piece" shape) because some of the activities suggest getting the child to hold up the number in response to a question. Whilst each character appears mainly on one piece, there are little bits which overlap onto other pieces which in some cases might make it hard for a young child to identify the numbers when looking at the pieces separately. Apart from that I think it's a good value toy.
