...battery life. I bought mine after a sales guy in the Sony Ericsson showroom on High Street Kensington (London) introduced them to me. I had no idea the HBH DS200 existed, but after he gave me a demo, I was blown away. Had mine 3 months now on my K800i phone and use them every day. Not only does the built in pre-amp & bass boost mean great sound, but for voice calls, you can hear the caller in BOTH ears, not just one like some other Stereo BT headsets. Plus, you can plug your own headphones into the small receiver unit. The HBH DS200 is on of the few products I have bought that I really can rave about. Good job Sony! (Only minor negative is lack of forward/reverse track controls, but I just use my K800i joystick/keyboard for that.)

I bought this bluetooth adaptor because I wanted to be able to listen my MP3s from my Sony Ericsson phone in my office, without the need to carry the phone around and to be free of some of the spaghetti which is necessary with the normal wired headset.
The HBH-DS200 fulfils these needs very well, although the supplied headset is decidedly average. The bluetooth receiver works well with better quality earphones, there is plenty of attack and bass and the sound quality is as good as the source.
It charges quite quickly and lasts well in use. It can be charged from the supplied charger or usefully, it can charge from the phone charger, or even a car charger. It can be used while on charge too which is useful if you happen to be sitting at your desk listening.

Call handling is very good with the audio quality being superb, but that could partly be down to the high quality earphones I use. The microphone is nicely sensitive and works well from the breast pocket of my shirt. I am told that from the other end of the line you would not think it was a hands free call.

It's not quite all roses though. I have found the device switched on a few times when it was left in my bag. The little button on the side is a little too easily pressed accidentally. The standby battery life is impressive so if it gets left on it's not a disaster.

The display is really tiny so unless you have good close up vision it's less than useful. It only shows battery capacity, Bluetooth pairing and ON status, .. which is a bit redundant as it goes blank when turned off!

There is a way of adjusting the volume by pressing and holding the call button. This causes the volume to cycle slowly up to maximum and then back down. You take your finger off the button when the volume is to your liking. That is a little clutsy really. A pause to change direction would have been much better. It's much easier to change volume on the phone instead.

All in all it's a good piece of kit and does what it says on the tin. With a little more effort it could have been brilliant though.

Not sure what to say as I've only had mine a day. I purchased the HBH-DS220 based on the previous review plus a bit of research.
I love sony phones but since they removed the one touch external play button on their range I'm a bit lost. I play my phone in my pocket and wear the wires which attach to the headphones inside my clothes!! I dont do white wires.... So I've been forced to seek an alternative solution (I had the w810i). The W890 and W880 are no comparison bar looks!
The HBH-DS220 has a great sound, is easy of use, etc. etc. it's awesome. Shame about the battery life!! I spend a lot of time in noisy data centre's and my HBH-DS220 did'nt last very long! I played music while I did an hour and half commute until approx. 09:30am. I then left at 10:30am to go to the data centre, more music until 15:30 my HBH-DS220 ran out of juice! So that's about write then. The sony website states 300mins standby and up to 6hours talk time. I'd best keep my wires close to hand then. I must say though the sound quality and portability are awesome, shame about the battery life.
So, come on Sony, bring back the one touch external play buttons on your phones and better battery life on your stereo bluetooth headphones for us discreet types.
