1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed by this mouse, 7 Jan 2010
By Dan20 (Gillingham, Kent UK) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Logitech MX Air - Rechargeable Wireless Air Mouse (Electronics)
I bought this mouse to be used in a living room environment with a Windows 7 64bit HTPC and 42inch plasma screen. Most other reviews seem to be favourable to this product but I found it annoying and unacceptable for my use. There were two main problems, the first is that the pointer would often completely disappear on the screen. I am not describing behavior when the focus has moved to the edge or off screen, rather that it becomes truly invisible and you only know where it is by the interaction as it passes over buttons etc. Rebooting was a temporary fix for this until it occurred again the next time. Researching this on the internet I find that this has been a known problem for a long time associated with the Logitech software and affects many users. The second is that control in the in-air mode is just not accurate enough for positioning when used with a high resolution screen. If you point and are close to the region that you want to be you might make a small gentle movement that you would think would move you to where you want to be, only to find that the movement is too subtle and the pointer doesn't move. To overcome this a more vigorous movement is required but this results in an overshoot. I am really describing a type of dead band in the performance here, this was incredibly annoying and something that I really hadn't expected. This product is not for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars 10/10 for logitech again!!!!, 25 Aug 2007
This review is from: Logitech MX Air - Rechargeable Wireless Air Mouse (Electronics)
well i have had this air mouse for a day now, an upgrade from the mx revolution, and all i can truthfully say is WOW what an unbelievable piece of kit, I bought mine from another online retailer, sorry amazon.co.uk, but as you show 4-6wks, i just could not wait that length of time, all i can say is that it does do everthing it says on the tin (box) It is just fantastic, with media centre, also just as happy on the desk and just how light is it??, also the bottom half is polished aluminium, top half smoked perspex, it realy does compliment my logitech di nivo 100%. you basicily hold it like a tv remote tip the front down and flick to the left or right whilst holding the action buttons, and to surf the net soooo easy, no more having wrist aches from "normal" rodent's. so in closing, I would strongly recommend anyone at all not to think about the price (i paid £77) but just buy it and trust me you will NEVER go back to normal mice, everthing on logitech's site regarding it is 100% correct, i thank you

4.0 out of 5 stars A good attempt for first gen technology, 10 Aug 2008
This review is from: Logitech MX Air - Rechargeable Wireless Air Mouse (Electronics)
Essentially all the other reviews for this are true... it is a stirling attempt by logitech to create an air mouse. Its easy to setup, install and with some fiddling on the settings the mouse sensitivity can be made to work nicely.

Where it fails:

The third mouse button which simulates a mouse wheel doesn't feel quite right and is difficult to control no matter how much you play with the settings.

In the air the mouse pointer will often move to the right of its own accord. I don't know why this happens, but other people I know have had the same problem. Its easily rectified just by freezing the cursor position, or going back to surface and leaving it for awhile before moving back to air control... just annoying.

In the air it is no where near as accurate as the Wii controller for those of us who have had the pleasure to use the Wii Opera browser.

But as I said - still a very good first attempt - I have a second large television with a PC attached but I'll be waiting for the next gen of this before buying again.
