The DG834PN RangeMax" MIMO-G Wireless ADSL Modem Router adjusts to interference and the physical barriers in your home to deliver up to 500,000 square feet of coverage. With RangeMax wireless dynamic connectivity there is no need to spend extra money on range extenders, repeaters and external antennas. There is also no need to throw away your older wireless devices. RangeMax is compatible with 802.11b, 802.11g and SuperG products and will boost their range and speed by up to 50%.

Staying wirelessly connected in your home or office can be tricky, especially as your environment continually changes. For example someone with a cordless phone might walk between your primary wireless signal and your computer or a microwave oven might click on. This interference can cause a drop in wireless data speed or drop out altogether. The DG834PN RangeMax Wireless Router adjusts to interference and the physical barriers in your home to deliver up to 500,000 square feet of coverage. This means that with a WPN111 Wireless USB Adapter inserted, your computer or laptop will not be prone to loss of wireless speed or dropouts - ensuring continual high speed Internet and network access anywhere in your home or office.

RangeMax is an advanced Smart MIMO (Multi-in, Multi-Out*) technology that uses seven internal antennas. The DG834PN RangeMax" MIMO-G Wireless ADSL Modem Router constantly surveys your home or office environment for physical barriers and interference: The RangeMax router adapts on the fly, adjusting the wireless signal to compensate for these performance blockers. For example; if you carry your laptop from the living room to the study, RangeMax automatically senses the change and selects from over 100 possible antenna configurations to deliver you the fastest, clearest connection!

    I have had my trusty old Netgear Wireless Router DG834PN and USB stick for a while and its great at connecting my home network (xbox 360, pc and laptop) with a fair connection speed which can vary from 36mb - 54/108mb.

    It is very easy to setup, the support from netgear if you do have problems can vary from satisfactory to exceptional.

    The downside of this router is that unfortunately this router operates at the same frequency and channels as my wireless PS3 controllers (even if you change channels there is still conflicts).

    Meaning if you have a ps3 dont buy this, as it drops the connection every 5 minutes and the ps3 cannot detect upnp ports on this either (meaning you have to manually open the ports...)

    If you stream video content between your pc and your X360, remember that this is "acceptable", but you would probably be better spending slightly more and investing in the netgear dg834n instead.

    Overall it is a great wireless router with a easy setup wizard and very straight forward, and has served me well until I bought my ps3...
    (Just dont buy this model if you have a ps3, other netgears are ok)

    This system was simple to set up. Instructions were easy to follow and I was up and running in about 30 minutes - this includes installing the wireless adaptor.

    One thing to look out for is the network connection within the PC. Mine was disabled so check yur hardware settings before installing.

    As a Vista user I would like to chip in and say that I most heartily agree with previous reviewers. Installation is especially a doddle using the wizard software and - as has been previously mentioned - what an absolute and unexpected relief, no need to wait on the phone for ages wasting time and money seeking and (eventually) receiving help. In the past, I've had Linksys and Belkin units and each time it's been the same sorry old story :-(
