My daughter who normally needs my full attention for most of the day has played happily with this playhouse since it arrived (promptly) this morning. She loves it. And, I love that she can break it down, remake it as she likes and learn both about role play as well as building/construction. Very versatile. We also like the Lego Duplo games on their official site which tie in nicely to the brick play.

I am still debating whether the playhouse was worth the extra �12.00 over the Duplo 'Family House' which doesn't include a minivan, vaccuum or grandparent with attached house but has other interesting items like baguettes, swing and bath for baby. The 'Family House' also appears to include beds for each member of the family whereas the Playhouse has two adult beds and a little girls bed but five family members. I splurged on this one based on .com review and because I wanted the grandparental addition so was surprised that there was only one grandparent. Not awful but it's annoying because I expected to get two grandparents but there wasn't a list of the contents.

When I was looking to buy this set, I was a little frustrated not to have a list of items included. In addition to the family figures (grandpa, mom, dad, little girl and little boy) and the pieces that are used to construct the house, here's what's in it:
minivan-looking car
table & four chairs
block pieces to be used as another table or bar
sofa
toilet, sink, shower
two adult beds and a little girl's bed, with three cloth pocket-like "blankets"
coffee carafe and cooking pot
sink with counter space
stove (range)
blocks to build a tree
oversized cat
three fence pieces for the balcony (they don't connect to each other)
three transparent blue bricks that look like a fish tank, with fish decals on one of them
a flower
a vacuum
