This case consists of two pieces of clear plastic that snap onto the front and back sides of the iPod. It leaves gaps - the top and bottom of the iPod are completely uncovered, also there is about a 1mm gap between the two pieces when they snap together. I prefer this limited coverage because any type of audio cable/headphone jack fits on top, also any type of iPod cable/charger fits at the bottom. Despite the gaps, the plastic pieces are securely in place, provide sufficient bump protection and they look good.

What I like most about this case is the belt clip. It is strong and because it is just one piece held against the back of the case, it secures the iPod flat against one's pocket or belt minimising movement. There is also an alternate back plastic included that doesn't have the belt clip at all (for those who won't use it).

Unfortunately, because of the gaps between the pieces, dust gets onto the iPod quite often (which is why I give it four stars). I have to open the case to remove dust every few days. Dust can also lead to scratches, but because iPod is covered by a screen protector (Martin Fields) this is not a problem for me. In fact, I chose this case specifically because I knew it would accommodate the screen protector (for some other cases, the fit would be too tight). But the gaps are a reason the case won't work for everyone.

This is a really great case for the ipod.

I wanted to add to the posts here that it does fit the 80gb ipod as well as the 60gb as they are the same size.

It offers much stronger protection than a leather or rubber case plus it looks much better. The top and bottom are open allowing dust to get in, however, dust still gets in with rubber and leather cases.
