The recordings are in excellent sound and there is nothing really wrong with this disc. It's just that for me there was a lack of magic in the Ritual Dances and a lack of logic in the concerto, so that the music is in danger of becoming boring.
The tempi are a little sedate, slower than Tippett's from my memory and it takes a pianist of John Ogden's ability to really make the piano sing in the concerto.
So good value for money but worth paying more for the greater tingles of excitement that this music can provoke.
