Wonderful photos (I especially love the ones of Grace Kelly, Diana Vreeland and Kate Moss), informative and delightful texts. What a great collection of girls with style - makes the perfect present for any fashion aficionado!

Someone else bought this in my family. I assume it is fit for purpose. No one has complained so it must be good.

This is a picture book supposedly of this century's fashion icons - many who are fabulous are included but too many who arn't. Several don't deserve a place in such a book in my view. Many of the real fashion icons are not represented. Why not Ginger Rogers, Mary Pickford, Faye Dunaway, Barbra Striesand, Mae West, so many more? What twisted logic includes Amy Winehouse, Agyness Deyn, Bjork, Sofia Coppola, and Seinna Miller (well know as they are) in a list of a Century's Fashionistas? Who on earth are Rachel Zoe, Babe Paley, Frida Kahlo, Chloe Sevigny, C Z Guest, Slim Keith - never heard of 'em. Werle has chozen a very eclectic mix. Nice coffee table book.

Really good, could be better. 23 Dec. 2010
By Sparky - Published on Amazon.com

The book is beautiful to look at and well-written, but it leaves me wanting more. More photos of the women profiled (some have but one photo and that doesn't really give you more than a glimpse into someone's style), more information on who they were, what they did, and when they lived (other than the photos, there are no dates provided). I like that the women are divided by "type," rather than just listed chronologically. That said, the book has inspired me to read more about some of the Fashionistas I found particularly interesting.

Lacking 13 Sept. 2011
By Shanter - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover
This is a pretty book at first look, but ultimately disappointing. There isn't enough information about each person, and some of them are quite obscure. There are also many who should have been included instead of some who were. The choice of photos also seems random and not necessarily what these women were known for.
