I don't even know where to start with this book. It absolutely blew me away. To be honest I don't even really like short stories but if enough people recommend a book I need to read it even if it is just all short stories. I'll be honest. I enjoyed this book as much as any full length novel I've read. Its extreme horror at its most hardcore. I read a lot of extreme horror and this is definately up there. I'd recommend this book to absolutely anyone but if you are squeamish then its definately not the book for you.

So you like horrors and your reading the reviews to find if this really what you want. So let me ask you a few questions....
Do you like extreme gore and blood?
Do you like your religious belief tested and book twist dwelve into your mind without you noticing(trust me on this im still questioning whats death like after one of these stories)?
have you got good stomach read full derails of death and stench that you can really smell it ?

This book is fab though! great for horrors fans ranging from maggots eating away a man, the partner who keeps coming back for more and the last talk of dying man (rofl this is tame outline of whats in this book)..... Its not horror if doesnt go into ypur mind as thats where your darkest fears lies....... reading genital grinder (ryan harding) in my eyes was sick but long winded .this straight to point but sneaky. It open the back doors of your brain and drags out a side where the turns are like the jumpy parts in films/you question bout evrtything you know bout horror and what films portrays. (cautions films will no longer thrill you once you discover wrath whote and deadite press books)..... Just enjoy woth open mind then the stereotypucal frame of blood gore what you know now as it will change

Having read and enjoyed Edward Lee's Carnal Surgery I decided to give this short story collection a read. I haven't read Wrath James White before so I went in blank and came out traumatized albeit in a good way. The stories are ALL amazing, there are no stinkers in the bunch. The under-flowing current in here is faith, whether it be a terrorist on his death-bed visited by a revengeful priest or a scientist who devises an inspired plan to test God, all the stories make you question religion in all it's forms. I suppose it would have been quite easy for Mr White to preach from a soap-box and try and pound you into a certain way of thinking but he doesn't do that. There is no patronization here instead the stories are highly intelligent and enjoyable that leave the reader to make up their own mind about things, to question and investigate... This is always a good thing and is severely lacking in most works of fiction. Just to tempt you even more this book contains buckets of gore, nasty sex, blistering violence and voodoo all presented with poetic and disturbing prose that hooks you right from the start and keeps you going through all fifteen little slices of horror. Darkly delightful and delicious. Enjoy. Thank you.
