This book is part of the foody librairy. Short reviews of traditionnal english slightly weird food, spiced with strange revelations about their creators. Scrumptious! (this is a frenchman speaking).
Go for it!!!

I bought this after I was given some Gentlemen's Relish (ooh er missus) for my birthday and was looking to purchase some more.

A fantastic little read explaining the oddities of Britsh cuisine. Not to in-depth but just enough to wet your appetite (Do you see what I did there. You can't teach people that comedy genius- you're born with it). What surprised me was what food and drink are seen as unusual. The crumpet and bucks fizz for example. It is an excellent looking book and very well set out.

Excellent for picking up and reading a few pages and learning something new everytime.

This is a most imformative, entertaining and amusing book.
I found many snippets that were extremely interesting but was most taken by the reference to fried bread in the description of a full English Breakfast.

Worth buying, even at double the price.
