Product Description

Review

'To the amateur golfer, this book is priceless... you'd be insane not to read it.' --Hugh Grant

'Leslie King (founder of the Knightsbridge Golf School) made golf fun. What a great teacher he was - and a lovely human being.' --Bruce Forsyth

'Follow the contents of this book and not only will you become a better golfer but you will understand where you're going wrong.' --Vernon Kay

Product Description

Since its conception in 1951, the Knightsbridge Golf School has taught tens of thousands of golfers of all ages and abilities, from the wonderfully talented to the woefully inept. Amazingly, despite a wealth of instructional material and access to the latest teaching technology, golfers of today are no better than they were when the school first opened its doors almost sixty years ago. They still cling hopelessly to the delusion that the next golden tip or instant fix will suddenly and magically transform them from rabbit to Tiger. The Golf Delusion explains that sadly no such tip exists, and outlines a proven, time-tested swing model that guarantees a programme for immediate and sustained improvement.

2.0 out of 5 stars None the wiser at the end, 9 Feb 2010

got this book for Xmas and read it while the snow was keeping me off the course. For me there were too much celebrity name dropping and the tone was a bit self congratulatory. As for the golf swing it seems that the key points were - you cannot learn golf outdoors, don't roll your wrists on takeway, keep the clubface square through the ball (as if I had not worked that one out), practice swinging in ultra slow motion and get an expert to physically place you in the correct swing positions. Perhaps it is the last point that betrays why this book did not do it for me - a book can never place you in the correct positions the way that the authors can at their beloved school.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Does It, 23 Oct 2009

After reading The Golf Delusion I have got my hunger back for this beautiful game. I have read many golf books including The Swing Factory, Leadbetter and so on. None compete with Steve and Dave's latest masterpiece. After reading so many and finishing my lesson with my local pro frustrated and confused I now focus on one thing at a time and know I am making progress. This books makes it plain and simple and to the point with fantastic instruction. I recommend this for all levels as you will be amazed at the simple but effective detail inside to improve your game and take it to a higher level. Thank you Steve and Dave for turning my game around. I am already looking forward to your next one.
