This book is unlike any i have read before. The tale follows the story of one boys life, literally, as each chapter corresponds to a year and an important event in his life. Through this you can see the characters develop and how they are shaped by each other's acts, and it allows the reader to understand the timing, without having the silly feel of an entire novel happening in a day, as is mostly the case in this genre!

The imagination and thought behind this novel is quite evident on every page, both through the author's writing style and the sheer depth of the content and the seamlessness with which the plot fits together.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading fantasy and magic, and I, being a huge fan of the genre, having read The Lord of The Rings series, all of Goodkind's works and countless others, would give it a resounding 10/10!
