This is the first Nancy Drew I've ever read. I'm in my thirties and never got to read the books as a kid, but I'm fascinated by a character that has lasted so long and is much loved by fans. I don't know where this book fits exactly in the ND canon, but it is modern and fairly interesting. In this instalment Nancy is starring in a film and also investigating a historical mystery and a contemporary one.I quite liked the way the writer cleverly weaved together the past and present elements of the plot, but I suspect this isn't the best example of a Nancy Drew mystery but entertaining nonetheless. Basically I found this a good introduction even though the synopsis on the back of the book is inaccurate.
