5.0 out of 5 stars the genuine article, 7 Sep 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Faith of My Fathers (Hardcover)
This book should be required reading for every American. Its affirmation of faith, family, honor and country -- even in the face of truly horrific experiences -- is an inspiration.

What most impresses is McCain's total lack of rancor torward his captors. Their actions would have earned the eternal wrath of lesser men, including myself. In an era littered with ersatz heros and false icons, McCain is the genuine article.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!, 31 Aug 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Faith of My Fathers (Hardcover)
I waited many months for this book to come out and man was it worth the wait! McCain is in a class all by himself. While GW Bush hems and haws about his past, Steve Forbes worries about whether or not he has to sell a vacation home or two to pay for his campaign, and Elizabeth Dole struggles to find a way to speak without that syrupy script she always has, McCain takes his case to the people by telling us about the things that really matter. Can you spell upset? And I am a Democrat!

5.0 out of 5 stars DEEPLY INSPIRING, 4 Sep 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Faith of My Fathers (Hardcover)
Senator McCain's incredibly moving portrayal of his fascinating upbringing and experiences throughout life deeply moved me. The hardships and the pain that he endured throughout his captivity created a man of complete integrity and loyalty who shares with us some of life's most important lessons. I cherish this book and what it taught me about morality and the importance of honesty. I would love to have Senator McCain become our next President, he is the answer to what this counrty needs, and after you finish this book you will understand why.
