This book is a very interesting collection of quotes from diaries, journals and letters of English travellers in France in the period 1580-1715. Eye witness accounts from so far back in history are always extremely interesting, and this book extracts the most interesting and Places them in a structured context, and provides analysis and comments. The only thing which annoyed me was that the book has kept the origonal spelling of the quotes. Yes - it makes them more original, but it makes them very hard to read.
