Format: Paperback
I recently purchased this guide as an addition to the Resident Evil (Nintendo GameCube) (Bradygames Official Strategy Guide), and I cannot express my disappointment enough.

The official guide (also by Prima) is in full colour, on a glossy paper and contains both comprehensive walk-through and general guide to characters, weapons, etc.

This unofficial guide, however, is in black-and-white and on porous paper. The screen captures are also in black-and-white and are almost all blurred. Yes, there are "maps" however these are ruled lines squares representing the layout of the mansion. These rules spaces are numbered in the order you are supposed to enter them during the walk-through.

The walk-through tells you which rooms to enter and what to do inside those rooms, but in order to use the maps you would have to flick back and forth between the written "walk-through" chapter and the "maps" chapter.

The walk-through and very brief guide to items, etc, lasts only 61 pages, with a small number of blurred screenshots, blocked out maps with no detail and is in a medium to large print; whereas the official Prima guide is 110 pages (not including sealed section) and is in a relatively small print with numerous full-colour pictures (screenshots, detailed maps, etc) with a great deal of detail included.

At the rear of the book (Chapter 4) there is also a 10 page guide to the demo of Resident Evil 2. Unfortunately, this is also done in the same poor manner as the main guide.

The 5-page Chapter 5 of the book is an "items index".

It is a very good Player's Guide. 25 Oct. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
It showed me all of the hints, shortcuts where all the weapons and ammo was, it showed me where all of the guys and bosses were and the easiest and best ways to kill them, and it also helped me beat the game in two weeks. I recomend it to anybody that has Resident Evil Director's Cut.

True to Resident Evil 27 Jan. 1999
By Christa Davis (davis@pacwest.net) - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Even though some people don't believe in strategy guide help to get the "full experience" out of a game, this book is a must have for any true Resident Evil fan! It takes you through each room, to every horrific monster, and to areas that are easily missed.

Its from Prima, You know its good! 25 Aug. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I am one of those people who likes strategy guides. This is up to the standerds of all prima guides. It gives you a complete and thorough walkthrough of advanced mode, which I appreciated greatly. It tells you all the cheats you can get by beating it certain ways. It also tells you all the weapons and characters. I suggest this book to everyone with Resident Evil.
