Delightfully written autobiography by R S Thomas as one might expect from such a fine poet. Originally a townie myself who has lived in the countryside for almost 30 years I greatly appreciate his insights into the country soul and way of life.

Very helpful! 28 Aug. 2014

An excellent collection of essays. I cannot judge the translation for accuracy, but it reads very well. It is surprisingly helpful as an introduction. I was not knowledgeable about R.S. Thomas or his poetry when I started reading Autobiographies and in fact am still reading it, very slowly, as I am enjoying entering into the poetry at the same time. Having the autobiography in a language more accessible to me than Welsh is very valuable, although eventually I hope to read the Welsh as well.
Well Done. 20 Jun. 2015

A translation from the Welsh that has managed to keep the 'voice' of the original. R.S.Thomas fans will love it.
