Anyone expecting the United States to revert to "normal" when George W. Bush leaves the White House in January 2009 should read 'Hijacking America'. Susan George's well-researched book details how a powerful network of right-wing foundations, think-tanks, lobbies and Christian fundamentalists have made a "long march through the institutions" and come to dominate the way of thinking at the top of American society and elsewhere.
This gripping and chilling book is an essential read for anyone wishing to understand how America came to be in its current political, social and cultural mire.
