why dont the BBC remake the missing Dr Who episodes

As there are so many of the William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton episodes ( and some entire stories ) missing it would seem like a good idea to remake them with a new cast , lets face it the stories in the new series are suffering badly from lack of content ( i mean come on how many times do you want to see the day saved by singing or by the power of lurve ) some of these early stories are really strong and deserve better treatment than a minimalist animation to a faded soundtrack , just a thought ......oh and by the way Bill Nighy would be fantastic as the 1st Dr
