Format: Audio CD
"Don't Kill" is a fantastically enjoyable album, especially if you're in a good mood! Known for being a protege of those now masters of Lounge, 'Air', his debut album bears many of the trademarks of his mentors. The single, "Power Glove", featuring Astrale on vocals, is a real pop treat, but isn't without a cool alternative attitude. The 80's synth guitar sound is particularly prominent in this song, but still features strongly throughout the rest of the album. The production values are typically high for the latest in a growing gang of French Dance wizards. If anything, Rob's music is less futuristic than his contemporaries like Mirwais, Air and Alex Gopher, and considerably more retrospective in its feel. But this is still a stunningly modern album, which oozes style and that 'lovable' French arrogance! The feeling I get from this album is that Rob will go on to make even better albums than "Dont Kill", because he clearly has a massive flair for production and a lovely ear for a tune. But perhaps his off-centre style will prevent him from ever reaching the chart success of his mates from Air.

Great french music 6 Sep 2012

A great album. I consider it a combination between Air and Sebastien Tellier's first works. Very cinematic. It has that special feeling only french artists can achieve... a combination of power and sensuality, like Gainsbourg or Bachelet. Anyways, you can visit the Amazon UK Store and listen to some samples, i think you will instantly fall in love with it.
