I was wondering if anyone knew of any great differences between the dvd extended editions and the blueray extended editions? The blueray ones cost (at around 50 something pounds) considerably more, suggesting they have more content? I just want to know what exactly is included in the blue rays that isn't in the dvd's, besides it being better quality visually, before making a purchase.

Apart from the better picture quality and sound you get from blu ray there is nothing different with the content of the films, If your TV is less than 40" and don't have a cinema surround sound system or your not a die hard must have the best kind of person then the DVD version is better value for money
