Not directly anyway. Their first album after WSOP was "Procol Harum", then "Shine On Brightly" and THEN "A Salty Dog"... as I remember anyway, and I was a fan!

I entirely agree with you, but I don't think I said Salty Dog followed 'A Whiter Shade of Pale?' Incidently, after more years have passed than I care to remember, what do you think of that song now? Personally, I think that huge hit did Procol no good at all - tagged a one song band, which we both know they weren't.

"that huge hit did Procol no good at all" - Bet they enjoyed the royalties though! I read recently WSOP is now officially the most played song in public over the last 100 years. It's a great tune, but a bit over played; I like there other stuff better. Salty dog is a great album, very innovative musically, in my opinion.
