Product Description

Steven does not have much luck with men. After catching his boyfriend sampling some ‘Turkish delight’ whilst on holiday in Morocco, he decides to end the relationship and start re-building his life. As someone who values a relationship above everything else, he believes that the best course of action is to get back into the world of dating – only to find it’s a minefield. Each guy has their own hidden agenda, forcing Steven to strip back the layers of what he really wants – can there be a happy ending? With the help of his somewhat quirky set of friends, foreign immigrants and a one-eyed cat, this ‘Tales of the City’ meets ‘Sex and the City’ comedy will have you laughing out loud as Steven works his way through some not very eligible bachelors!

2.0 out of 5 stars Shows promise 28 Aug 2012

This book was a surprise after seeing 10 rave reviews, because it reads like a pretty good first-attempt at a novel, that could use a judicious editor. I mean this review as concrit, because it's in need of polishing of it's mostly descriptive narrative, toning down of the 'jokey' style, which doesn't allow the reader to decide what's humorous and fleshing out of, and consistency in, the characters and their motivations, which would do the idea justice.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun Read 30 Oct 2012
Format:Paperback
What a fun book this turned out to be. Steven is an immensely likable character, who you can't help but feel for. All he wants is someone to love and who will love him in return, but he has a knack for picking precisely the wrong men. Follow him on his hilarious journey as he bids farewell to his cheating boyfriend, then blunders from one disastrous relationship to the next in pursuit of happiness. Written with humor and in a style that is both lively and easy-to-read, this novel will have you laughing out loud all the way through.

2.0 out of 5 stars Lame with forced humour 4 Aug 2012
By Martin
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Oh dear. What a disappointing novel.

The story is terribly thin, the writing is simplistic, the characters are poorly drawn and the humour is virtually non-existent.

I am baffled why eight people have so far written five-star reviews when I found the book so laborious.

Predictable, poorly written nonesence.
