The "Hearts" were incredible. With Davy Spillane's Uilleann Pipes and Low Whistle, Christy Moore's terrific singing of, his brother Barry's, or as he became to be known Luka Bloom, song, "Remember the Brave Ones". He also sings a Mick Hanly song who, when Christy got browned off with the changes the Band were headed in and headed off to go solo, gave Mick the opportunity to be their next singer. He of course, then was the singer on the "Live" album which was recorded in 1983, in London. Eoghan O Neill's, whether fretless or fretted bass, drove the Band so powerfully, yet another unsung hero of Irish music! His own tune "Half Moon" is on here and is one for seeing how many influences were behind how the Band got their name.
All of these fellas have gone on to be such influences in the music.
Keith Donald's Sax is exemplary on many of the numbers, Declan Sinnott's superb phrasing and chording on his Electric and Acoustic Guitars and Donal Lunny's arranging and Bouzouki playing, well.........
Just buy it IF you can find it!
